Life is a whirlwind

This week, I find myself wondering where the last week has gone?  It's the end of September, school is in full swing, soccer has started for Noah, Josiah is busy with his little activities, my volunteer commitments at school seem to be multiplying and Michael continues his busy schedule, but to make his life interesting, throw in a wedding and two funerals in ten days.  Yup, life in our household is a whirlwind!

After posting that Michael & Noah had escaped the end of summer cold that Josiah & I shared, Noah ended up coming home from school early on Friday with a fever and spent the rest of Friday and most of Saturday on the couch.  This meant he missed the first soccer game on Saturday and any fun plans we had were cancelled.  I did take a few pictures of soccer practice last Thursday, so there are a few of those in the mix.  Not sure how good they are - I used my phone to take the pictures and today has been so busy, I uploaded photos while I was on the run, so I never really looked at them.  Noah's in there somewhere!  lol  Anyway, Michael has continued to avoid the yuck and hopefully, it will stay that way!

The boys had dentist appointments on Monday and since I didn't take pictures of Josiah's first dentist appointment, I did take pictures this time.  He was very excited to go to the dentist and Noah enjoys going too - weird kids!  ;)  No cavities for either boy, Noah has two loose teeth and Josiah is cutting all four of his 2 year molars.

Josiah is on a Wiggles kick lately and we have been listening to The Wiggles non-stop.  In the car.  At home. In the morning. In the afternoon. In the evening.  I'm just about Wiggled out.  :)  But, he is so cute when he's singing and dancing along.  No progress on the potty training front.  In fact, I think we've regressed a bit.  :(  We're just constantly running and he is officially afraid of automatic flushers, so it's just stopped being a priority for me.  I really have to get back on the potty train!  (hahahaha)

As I mentioned, Noah is back in soccer, plus piano, Touring Company, schoolwork and his latest obsession: Angry Birds.  He's still drawing quite a bit and doing so well on the piano.  I can't brag enough!  :)  Now if he would just leave his little brother alone....

A few pictures from our week are here.

End of summer colds don't slow us down!

Last week I had a head cold that hit me hard but didn't slow us down too much... then Josiah caught it and Saturday was a standstill.  It was sort of nice to have a day to just relax, though dealing with sickie Josiah wasn't as nice.  I'd rather just stay crazy busy!  :)  Despite our colds, we still managed to get to two library events, school volunteer commitments, Tiny Tots Gym, a soccer practice... you get the idea.  Cold-shmold!  We've got things to do!  Fortunately, Josiah & I are both feeling much better and so far, Michael & Noah have managed to escape this round.

One of the library events was a Lego Lab that both boys could go to.  Noah, of course, was over the moon, though he was hoping to get a goodie bag or something (yeah, like we need more legos in this house...).  I was quite content with an evening for him to Lego with others.  :)  Josiah played with the Legos for about 3 minutes and then found a ball and discovered the stage area and that was the end of the Legos for him.  It was still fun though.  Noah created several things but the one he showed off was an Angry Birds scene.  (yes, the angry birds have finally hit our household... I have  not yet succumbed to the temptation!)  The other library event was the start of StoryTime for Josiah. He loves to sing and dance and listen to stories during StoryTime but he especially likes the play time at the end.  :)  He was one of the older kids - I think this may be his last StoryTime.  :(  The one StoryTime that fits in our schedule is only for birth-2years.  The one for older kids doesn't work in our crazy schedule.  Maybe they'll change it up next session.

I did remember to take a few pictures here and there - enough that they are on Winkflash again this week.

Just another busy week

Josiah continues to love "riding" his motorcycle around church and I finally remembered to take a few pictures.  You can see that he basically walks it around but then when there is any sort of downhill, he picks up his feet and coasts away.  He actually started pedaling the other day (and I even got a picture!) but wouldn't do it again so it must still be easier to walk than pedal. :)

 Weeeeeeeeeeee!
 Hot and sweaty boy!

Josiah pedaling for the first time, all on his own!

On Saturday we went down to Cincinnati to visit friends. They had soccer games in the morning so the boys and I geocached our way down. We found 3 more geocaches, one of which was my 50th find. :) It had rained the night before and was a nice, cool morning but very muddy. What's better than trekking through the woods looking for a small container in the mud?  I can think of a few things but it was fun. ;)
If you look closely at the tree on the left, you can probably make out the small container strapped to the tree. The best part? The mosquitoes were still sleeping!

We met our friends at a Steak n Shake, had a fun, long, late lunch and then went to their house to play. There is a geocache hidden in a park near their house, so we tried to find it together to no avail. :( It's always more fun to cache with friends though, so even though we didn't find that last one, we still got to be with our friends.

Josiah started back to Tiny Tots Gym this week and school continues to go well for Noah. The weather has definitely taken a fall turn and we're starting to pull out pants and long sleeves again. Though we are heading in to my least favorite time of the year, I've got so many activities with the boys, maybe I won't notice the colder temps and the shorter days. HA.

Singin' in the Rain

Just another "normal" week in our household with the exception of RAIN.  That's something we haven't seen much of this summer.  It started sprinkling while we were outside, so we dug out the umbrellas and the boys played in the rain.  I don't think it ever really did downpour that day, though we've had off and on rain since.  The humidity is extreme and my desire to be outside is low.  :)  Josiah doesn't care that he gets sweaty just standing there though, so out we go.  I don't have pictures of it this week, but Josiah's latest idea of fun is "riding" his big wheel motorcycle around the church parking lot.  He doesn't pedal yet, just uses his feet to move, but he loves riding down the slight incline in the parking lot.  In the last few days, I think he's spent well over an hour doing this.  I'll try to remember to get pictures!

Michael celebrated a birthday on Saturday and has been enjoying his new iPad.  We also managed to eat his entire birthday cake in about 24 hours.  lol  It was GOOD.

Monday, I did something I never dreamed I would find myself doing: I walked in a parade wearing a shirt that says, "I Believe in Lima."  Yes, me.  I was with about 250 other Lima City Schools supporters including the LSH marching band, football team, cheerleaders and lots of teachers, staff and other parents.  Lima City Schools had a levy on the spring ballot that didn't pass and so marching in the parade was part of the PR as we gear up for the November ballot.  Without the levy, more cuts will have to be made, so I decided it was worth the sacrifice to wear a shirt like that to show my support.  ;)  And though I still am not a huge fan of Lima, I LOVE LIMA CITY SCHOOLS, especially Liberty Arts Magnet School and the education that Noah gets there.  So I'll grin and bear it and wear the shirt frequently between now and the vote.  And since no one who really knows me would believe I would actually wear a shirt with those words, pictures were taken as proof.  :)  I also took a few pictures of Noah in the parade.  Josiah and I actually did it too, I just didn't take pictures.

Have a great week!
