Happy Easter!

He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We had a very nice Easter, despite the rain and yucky weather. We started the day with church and a wonderful worship service as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord. Following worship we went to the Easter breakfast sponsored by the church youth group and the boys enjoyed the Easter egg hunt, collecting 19 eggs (thank goodness it wasn't 50, as it has been in the past!) and more than enough candy, stickers and trinkets. While Michael led the second worship service, the boys and I attempted pictures between the raindrops. (at least it wasn't snow!) :) For our Easter dinner, Michael grilled steaks and I made my first ever homemade cheesecake. (both were delicious!) We also were able to talk on the phone to Gummy and Grandma Alice, who both had a houseful.

cold and wet

Another dreary week in Ohio. :( Fortunately, both Grandmas gave the boys a bright spot in the week by sending fun care packages! They sent lots of fun summer clothes... now if summer would just get here already!! :)

We got Josiah his very own computer keyboard - it won't be long and he'll be cruising around the computer like his brother.

Not a baby anymore...

Michael gave Josiah a big boy haircut on Monday and now our sweet baby looks like a big boy!! Of course he's just as cute as always but it's amazing what a hair cut will do to change a baby's look.

Sunday was an AMAZING, WONDERFUL, summer-like day. It was in the 80s and just a perfect day to play outside.

But don't get used to that kind of weather - Monday it rained and wasn't very warm, yesterday was even colder and this morning when Noah got on the bus it was 32*. The sun is shining now though, so I won't complain. Summer will get here eventually, right? And until then, I'll take all the sunshine and random warm days I can get. :)

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

Last Thursday, the boys and I and Noah's friend Zachary, went down to Dayton to spend the day at Boonshoft, a favorite children's science museum. We hadn't been in quite some time, so Noah was very excited to go. Josiah loves it now too! He especially loved the water table and the slide. I think he went on the slide at least 3 dozen times - climbing the steps by himself and sliding down, all smiles. Noah couldn't pick a favorite part - when I asked him what his favorite part was, he named just about every section! Zachary chose the water table and the big slide as his favorites, so a good time was had by all.

Noah is now back to school and brought home another excellent report card. He continues to do well in all subjects. (though there was no A+++ this time lol)

Josiah is still all smiles, though over the weekend, he cut 2 molars, which would explain some of his unusual crankiness. His latest "cute" antic is when we tell him that it's time to eat, he runs to his chair, folds his hands and says, "dee dee dah dee dee dee dee" - he's praying! :) He prays with us as well. We're working on getting him to say "AMEN!" Last night as I was cleaning up the kitchen after supper, Josiah pointed at the cupboard where we keep the cookies and "asked" for a cookie. I said, "No, not yet" and he proceeded to put both hands on his heart, bent over and cried, glancing up to see if I was changing my mind. lol Later, after he had had the cookie, he asked for more and I said he'd had enough, to which he put his arms against the wall, leaned his head on his arms and gave another very dramatic whine. Where did he learn all that?? (please, don't answer that... ;) )
